BASHH's new President announced

The British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) are pleased to announce the election of Dr Elizabeth Carlin as the new BASHH President. She started her term of office on 8 January 2016 at the close of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and will serve until the AGM in 2018.

Elizabeth is the immediate-past Vice President of BASHH and has been a Board Officer since 2010, previously holding the roles of BASHH General Secretary and Chair of the Clinical Governance Committee. She has also been Secretary of the Clinical Governance Committee and Chair of the Trent Branch of BASHH.

Elizabeth brings a wealth of experience to the role of President and works as a consultant in genitourinary medicine and HIV in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. She is currently leading the mobilisation of services in mid-Nottinghamshire into a new integrated sexual health service following a successful tender in 2015.

Commenting on her election, Dr Carlin said: “I am delighted and honoured to be elected as BASHH President and am determined to communicate and safeguard the unique and essential role that sexual health services provide for all society.”
