BASHH is your specialty association – Take a leading role

A number of Board of Trustee and Clinical Governance Committee (CGC) roles are going up for election soon. Successful candidates will serve for 2 years from the AGM in January 2027.

BASHH members bring their time, expertise, and passion to raising standards in sexual health and HIV care. Together, we shape education, guidance, and standards that support professionals and improve care for the communities we serve. Our board of Trustees provides strategic leadership, working with our CEO, staff, and members to deliver our aims and maximise our impact.

This leadership role goes beyond our association. We advocate within the system for our speciality and for equity of access to the high standards of care we help to set and deliver.

Please consider standing for one of these posts and contributing further to your specialty society. We can achieve our objectives most effectively with enthusiastic members who bring their diverse knowledge and experience to help run and represent our organisation.

Please note:

All nominees must have been BASHH members for 2 years at the time of application (except for the Doctor in Training roles). This applies to both Board and CGC posts.*
CGC Branch Chairs are not required to be medical consultants - this role is open to nurses, health advisers, pharmacists, and SAS doctors. These posts need to be proposed and seconded by two BASHH Fellows.

*If you are in a different membership category to the one required of the role you would need to be willing to move to this category if successfully appointed to the role.
