Running a BASHH regional branch event

BASHH can help regional branches to run events. Basic admin support for online events does not incur any costs, whilst more complex support and in-person events will generally incur some admin and event management costs. We can work with you to cover these through event income, such as sponsorship and/or charging fees to participants.  All income needs to be managed by the BASHH events team to ensure an appropriate audit trail. Any residual income will remain with BASHH to cover additional expenses such as admin time, website, and CPD costs. Please see below for an overview of the support available for regional events and links to event planning forms and other resources. 

Online Events 

BASHH offers the following admin support at no cost:

  • Hosting an event booking page on the BASHH website.
  • Featuring the event in the BASHH events calendar.
  • Marketing via email and social media.
  • Delegate booking via the BASHH website.
  • Delegates will be provided with a direct link to your local teams or zoom meeting.

The following optional support will incur admin costs (to be covered through event income):

  • Financial management of honoraria, sponsorship contracts, and event fees. More information is available in the planning guide, see below.

In-person events

If you have a free venue for your event and are not expecting to incur any additional costs, we can offer the same basic admin support as for online events without incurring any admin costs (see above). However, most in-person events will incur costs, such as venue hire and catering, which may need to be covered by sponsorship and/or charging fees to participants.

The following types of support will incur admin/management costs from BASHH:

  • Venue search.
  • Venue contracting and management.
  • Financial management: sponsorship, event fees, expenses and honoraria.
