BASHH ISSUES GUIDANCE ON SEX, SOCIAL DISTANCING AND COVID-19

The British Association for Sexual Health and HIV have released new guidance on sex, social distancing and COVID-19.

The guidance is available to download below and is also accessible on the BASHH COVID-19 member section of the website:

Following Government advice, the latest BASHH guidance outlines that sexual contact should only take place if:

  • Sexual partners live within the same household
  • Sexual partners have not been exposed to COVID-19
  • Sexual partners are not in a high-risk group

Social distancing should be observed with anyone who is not part of your household, meaning people should stay 2m away from each other.

The guidance also provides practical advice on accessing sexual health services, HIV testing and care and sexual assault services during this time.

As the pandemic progresses, we are striving to update guidance and advice as frequently as possible, in line with latest developments. Please visit the BASHH webpage regularly and follow us on Twitter (@BASHH_UK).
