Guidance on expedited syphilis testing and treatment for inclusion health group

This guidance has been developed in collaboration with members of the BASHH prisons special interest group, the BASHH clinical effectiveness group, specialist UKHSA and NHSE teams and has been informed by qualitative interviews with current prisoners, conducted by our community engagement partner, EP:IC.

This guidance is intended to expedite syphilis diagnosis and treatment for people from inclusion health groups who are at high risk of loss to follow-up in England. It is designed for use by healthcare professionals outside specialist sexual health services in settings where traditional healthcare models may not effectively meet the needs of these populations, including prisons and outreach services.
