Ms Holly Royston-Ward
I am a Nurse Manager at Sexual Health Sheffield combining direct clinical duties, leadership and training. I began my SRH training at Imperial College NHS Trust, and have since gone on to consolidate and expand my training, as a Specialist Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, and Lead Nurse, in several different clinics and healthcare settings.
I am experienced in an international SRH capacity, with both Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) and Medicines du Monde. Working on projects in Palestine, Bangladesh and Nepal, I have supported essential projects to improve SRH access, and rights for women.
My wide range of nursing experience has given me unique perspectives on UK and International SRH, the complexity of how they intertwine, and how the work we do resonates throughout our professional and personal communities
We have recently witnessed how external factors can dramatically shape our ever-changing health provision. With reduced staffing, in most clinics across the UK, it is crucial we work together, learn, and adapt. It is also vital we maintain our voices, within wider health care provision, ensuring patient's SRH needs are being met.
I am a firm believer in equal access to all, and as a community, we must investigate reducing inequalities in SRH provision. As a member of the board, I will work towards achieving this goal, leading on support, education, and guidance. Whilst also increasing nurse visibility and involvement in BASHH work.Back to the list of BASHH Board Members
