BASHH – was formed in 2003 through the merger of the Medical Society
for the Study of Venereal Diseases (MSSVD; established 1922) and the Association
for Genitourinary Medicine (AGUM; established 1992).

BASHH MISSION STATEMENT
- To be the lead professional representative body for those practicing
sexual health including the management of STI's and HIV in the UK
- To innovate and deliver excellent tailored education and training
to health care professionals, trainers and trainees in the UK
- To determine, monitor and maintain standards of governance in the
provision of sexual health and HIV care.
