• To identify the current and future scope of pharmacy-based management of sexually-transmitted infections (STIs)
• To engage with stakeholders from within BASHH, professional pharmacy organisations, including those for HIV, community pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry
• To identify the curriculum and training resources required by community pharmacists to develop the necessary competencies for the management of STIs in primary care
• To define the minimum standards for delivering a pharmacy-based STI diagnostic and treatment service
• To determine the care pathways for clients accessing pharmacy-based diagnostic and treatment services
• To identify clinical governance structures to ensure that the service is delivered safely and effectively
• To look at how cases of STIs that are managed in the community are recorded as part of public health surveillance
