Doctors in Training BASHH Regional Representatives
We have a network of GUM SpRs in the UK. Each region has a nominated representative, and the names and email addresses are below. The regional rep holds a list of all SpRs in their area. This enables information to be disseminated from the BASHH Doctors-in-Training Reps to all UK SpRs, and for comments to be fed back. This ensures that the views of all SpRs can be fairly represented at BASHH. It also allows SpRs from around the UK to share opinions, surveys, collaboration on projects, etc. Other junior doctors who wish to be included in the network should contact the rep in their area. If you notice any errors in the list, or would like to volunteer to be the rep in your region, then please contact andy.williams@bartsandthelondon.nhs.uk

TRAINING ISSUES
Curriculum for Specialist Registrars
The curriculum can be viewed on the Joint Committee on Higher Medical Training website at www.jrcptb.org.uk/
A deadline for transfer to the 2010 curriculum has been set at July
2011. There is certainly no pressure to transfer officially if you don't
wish to but trainees are encouraged to be aware of the content of the
2010 curriculum in the spirit of keeping up to date. The benefit of
transferring is mainly for trainees in smaller centres who will be
guaranteed, and can negotiate for, exposure to those elements of the new
curriculum that were previously optional and are now essential.
Honorary Joint Training Fellowships for Physicians
The British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) and the Health Protection Agency run a programme of Honorary Joint Fellowships for Physicians in Higher Specialist Training in genitourinary medicine.
