Professor Jonathan Ross is Professor of Sexual Health and HIV in Birmingham. He qualified from Aberdeen University Medical School in 1986 and worked in general medicine and genitourinary medicine, being dually accredited in 1997. He has worked as a consultant physician in genitourinary medicine in Birmingham since 1997.
He is an associate editor of the journal Sexually Transmitted Infections, a member of the editorial board for European Sexually Transmitted Diseases Guidelines and the International Journal of STD & AIDS, chairman of the Respiratory Diseases Specialty Question Group for MRCP examination, editor of Global Review of Sexually Transmitted Infections and world executive board member of Global IUSTI.
Professor Ross is the author of UK and European Guidelines on Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. His research interests are pelvic infection and sexual health care service delivery. His publications include four book chapters, thirty review articles and sixty-eight original papers.
