Richard Lau is Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Genitourinary Medicine at St. George's Hospital. He started specialist training at the Royal London Hospital, after which he worked as a clinical research fellow at St. Mary's Hospital where he wrote his MD on the molecular virology of Epstein-Barr virus infection in oral hairy leukoplakia. He then completed his training as a senior registrar at St. George's Hospital before being appointed consultant in GU Medicine at Beckenham Hospital. Richard helped to set up web sites for both MSSVD and AGUM before they merged and has been active in postgraduate training, as chair of South Thames STC (2004-2007) and representing BASHH on the GU Medicine SAC (2005-2008).
