Volunteering Opportunity

VSO is a leading international development charity. For over 50 years we've sent volunteers to developing countries in order to share their skills, build capabilities and promote international understanding. If you join us as a volunteer, you'll be instrumental in fighting poverty in disadvantaged communities.

We need experienced HIV and AIDS professionals to offer practical healthcare and treatment, manage programmes to support those living with HIV and AIDS and deliver community initiatives to give support and a voice to those affected with HIV and AIDS.

We have a range of HIV and AIDS roles including healthcare professionals, therapists and community workers. You could be working in one of VSO's twenty HIV and AIDS programmes across Africa, Asia and the Pacific. You'll use your skills and develop new professional and personal skills in a stimulating and challenging environment.

In return, we'll give you comprehensive financial, personal and professional support. We'll provide you with extensive training prior to your placement, and our financial package includes a local living allowance, return flights and visas, accommodation and full medical insurance. When you return home, we'll help and support you to resettle, and many of our returned volunteers stay involved with us long after their placement ends.

Now is the best time to volunteer. The Government has made funds available for members of public service pension schemes, including healthcare professionals, to volunteer for up to two years with their pension paid. This new scheme will benefit you, your career and the UK healthcare system.
