HIV SIG report 1st August 2005 – 31st July 2006

The HIV special interest group and its hepatitis subgroup have been active on behalf of BASHH at a UK policy and strategy level , and look forward to greater co-ordination with the British HIV Association in the future. The SIG has also been ensuring that BASHH meets its commitment to ensure that a third of the educational activities are HIV-related.

Educational events
• Joint BASHH/BHIVA meeting October 2005.
• BASHH Ordinary General Meeting January 2006.
• HIV Masterclass at Warwick University 13-14 March 2006. The programme covered new antiretrovirals, virology, vaccines and adolescent issues and included an interactive series of case discussions. The evaluation was excellent and demand for the Masterclass exceeded places available, therefore  early booking is advised for 2007.
